Insta reaction DW 5x10

And now it is time for Eleventy day!

OH MY GOD MY SHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW. I can't actually be coherent at this moment because I am kind of bawling. And the thing is, I have actually been a little worried as the darker aspects of this season have developed that I would...I dunno, lose my squee. Except I haven't, because somehow the balance it has managed to strike between the silly and the profound and the heartbreaking and the hopeful is, for me, just right. And this episode is exactly that. As you might imagine I'm a bit...sensitive about the portrayal of mental illness on the teevee, and while I might have some nitpicks what is right about this outweighs them. And I miss Rory horribly, and this episode managed to let me do that without either dragging down under the weight of it or undervaluing it's importance. And I laughed. And I went eeeeee and pointed and flailed. And I got yet another OT3 out of it (seriously, I'm beginning to wonder if Moff and I were separated at birth on that topic). And it most definitely added to my pile of good things.

'scuse me, I need to go find some tissues.

My heart is still all good-achy. It's like the writers sat down and said, "Now, hmm, what does Laura like best?"

::happy moan::

And yes, I agree it was implied, and yes, I would read that fic every day, too.

I wish I could still write fic! I'd write it myself!

I was concerned that Vincent was going to be Magically Cured, and I'm so relieved they didn't go there. I was initially a little "hmm" about his being able to see the monster when no one else could, but it's pretty clear that that's connected to his artistic genius -- special way of seeing -- rather than to his mental illness.

I'm relieved, and thrilled, that they went where they did with it. And yes, Eleven's speech is such perfection. ::sigh:: He absolutely gets it! I know he'd treat you right.

Oh, the 'piles of good' speech just killed me, but the whole thing, yes. Such an amazing episode, really, really outstanding take on mental illness.

(Also, I've just discovered that while my workplace blocks LJ they don't block DW. This could end up being important.)
