I may have just ordered the DVDs for season 6 of Little House. I may also already have a Laura/Almonzo vid song. DON'T JUDGE. Does it count as RPF since the tv and book series so clearly inhabit different universes? Huh, I mean, I guess it is because as AU RPF scenarios go 'What if Ma and Pa settled in one place' is pretty straightforward. It isn't like they were all 'And then what if aliens kidnapped the Ingalls family and they had a farm on Mars'

I would read that fic. I would also read the one where the crop was being threatened by sentient nanotech insects and the Doctor came to destroy them before they got out of hand and ate all the food in the world and of course Laura helped him and then went on to be a companion. She'd make an awesome companion. Sometimes I do wish I wrote fic.

Anyway, this is what happens when I'm deprived of regular interaction with cable television and torrent downloads. Right now I'm just happy I'm feeling even sort of fannish about anything. I suspect my entire f'list will breathe out a heavy sigh of relief once I have a proper set up again.

OMG I was a huge fan of the Laura Ingalls Wilder books and I used to totally fantasize, like all the time, about bringing her forward in time so I could show her all the amazing technological advances we had.

"Look, a tractor!"

"Look, a coffee grinder!"

"Look, you don't have to twist hay into sticks to burn so you don't all die from The Long Winter! We have central heating!"

Now I realize I was just doing a self-insert Doctor Who thing. IT'S ALL SO CLEAR.

She would! Absolutely. Someone should write that.

Have you seen the one where the Doctor visits Austen's Sense and Sensibility? It's really excellent.

::tries not to ruin it by pointing out that Laura Ingalls Wilder passed away in 1957, so that was probably the last half of her life anyway. HOLY SHIT, CENTRAL HEATING! she probably said::

Anyway I support this vid plan. I like it a lot.

I did eventually realize that, yes. (: But it was the little girl I wanted to squire around.
