Martha Jones, Better Than You Part Two
Said this in a comment elsewhere but I'm bringing over here to say more, 'cause this? Is why the whole tinkerbell thing doesn't bother me in the slightest. 'Cause in reality? It's not about the Doctor and his glowy levitation at all. It's about Martha Made of Awesome Jones Who Is Better Than You.
Martha saved the universe. Not the Doctor. Martha saved the world because all those people? They listened to *her*. They followed *her*. What *she* said. Her words. Her courage. Her love. Not his. The Doctor tapping into the psychic network thing means *nothing* without Martha Jones because not one of those people she met know the Doctor from a hole in the ground and have no reason to care. They know Martha Jones, and they said his name because they believed in HER.
And she did it by telling stories. Her story. Because it is her story. The Doctor is the myth, and she creates him. He doesn't exist without her. But she most certainly exists without him. And now she knows it. How can I not love that? Seriously, how? How can I be anything but triumphant at her victory and her decision to leave? That he has zero power to dazzle her with the shiny baubles of the universe in service of his own needs anymore, not even if he levitates and glows. And now? It's him who has to come running when she calls on her terms. If she even wants him to. Her choice. Rock on Martha Jones. ROCK ON.
