(no subject)

Woke up this morning still in the happy glow of a Doctor Who series finale that, well, made me happy. I don't feel any need to write fix it meta of any kind, which is a strange sensation. I do want to vid. For the first time since I abandoned the half finished Vincent and the Doctor vid in the Eleventy Project. I'm still bummed that I didn't complete that project in real time as I intended, but I don't think it will actually compromise its intent or output to do it now.

To be honest, some of the urgency of wanting/needing to get the vids done before the next episodes aired was a reflexive flinch to the RTD era in which how I felt about past episodes and/or what I took away from them were inevitably changed when I was told 'no, that thing you were grooving on will be taken away or stomped on now' I mean, I'm glad (really glad) I made both Twilight Omens and I before Cold Blood, because of plotty stuff which would have affected my emotional state, but that's not true for the vid I was making for Vincent or the one I would make for The Lodger. And, of course, the worry about nextepisodeitis was never a concern for a finale vid.

I dunno, what do you guys think? Has the time come and gone for the Eleventy Project or does it still have a place?

I think it still has a place, for several reasons. The first and most important (at least to me) is that you want to do it. That pretty much trumps everything else, IMO. But there are other reasons too! One is that I suspect people will be rewatching this season a lot in the next six months, and having vids that encapsulate that experience will therefore still be welcome. Another is that it's a way for you to celebrate this wonderful season and share that celebration with others.

I mean, maybe your reasons for doing it will have changed (and for the better, in some ways, now that you're no longer feeling that reflexive flinch, as you put it), but that's not inherently a problem. I think it's okay to finish the project from a place of love and reflection rather than love and urgency, even if that's not how it began. The season is big enough and satisfying enough to accommodate both sets of impulses.

Pleeeeease continue the Eleventy Project! I have been enjoying collecting the whole set, and would love to be able to review the whole season in vid form with them. :)

I'd love for you to finish them, if only because it'd spread the Eleventy joy for a longer period of time. However, this is only if you feel the spark and need as well. ♥

I've watched the vid for Amy's Choice about thirty times since it got posted and I'm only getting around to downloading it today. Heh.

I would love for you to continue it. Your joy and affection for this series just shines out of every vid, and reflects my own feelings in ways I can't even put into words.

Also, I like shiny things, and your vids are always shiny!

I will cheerfully eat up any vids you make with a big spoon, whether they're part of the Eleventy Project or not. I would, of course, be delighted with more Who-vids from you, especially those celebrating this season.

Do whatever you want to do, and you can't go wrong. It's vidding. It's for fun.

The Eleventy Project totally has a place forever in my heart!

Whatever you decide, I'll look forward to your future possible Eleventy-era vids. ♥

If you're still having fun with them -- do them! I know we are...
