sleep is for wimps
Halp!! I have once again failed at sleeping. I'm trying to stay awake until at least early evening so I can try and knock myself back on some kind of schedule that makes sense. But I'm TIRED. Need distractions. Talk to me. About anything. Please?
Possible random topics of conversation from the slush pile of thoughts currently in my head:
1. Eleventy and his faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaace. I have not had a good squee fest about my Eleventy in forever (in part due to pure jealousy that I still haven't been able to see his appearance on Sarah Jane). I love him you guys. Still. Always. I have such great reserves of love stored up that he could probably kick a puppy in the Christmas special and my first reaction would be to assume the puppy was evil. Except even if the puppy was evil he wouldn't kick it. He'd be sad the puppy was evil and find a way to redeem it so it could travel with him, and take it for playdates with K9 an then the (formerly) evil puppy would somehow be key in defeating aliens and we'd all learn a Valuable Lesson about being kind to evil puppies.
2. Driving on ice. Last night I managed to get stuck at the bottom of a grade with no traction and then wedged against a tree when I tried to back up and had to hike all the way back down to the main house so my sister in law could come push my car with her jeep to get it out. WTF? How have icy roads/hills betrayed you?
3. The second Nightmare On Elm Street movie is fucking awful. And not awful in the way that some of the others are, in which I still love them despite their flaws. Awful in that it doesn't fit at all and doesn't even...like, the rest of them have moments that mash on my buttons hard even when they are ridiculous. The second one? I hate it. I made myself rewatch it when I was clipping for the vid and I resented every second of it.
4. Are you working on anything fannishly? Are you having fun with it? I am still chipping away at my festivid. It is going slower than I thought it would when I got my assignment, but I think I am making actual progress. And trying to remember that every vid has that point where you are staring at chunks of the timeline that you haven't figured out what to do with yet and it always feels like there is NO SOLUTION, and there always is a solution, and then you feel downright silly for declaring that you are giving up vidding forever in favor of knitting, because now the timeline is full and you MADE A VID and hey, there's this idea and a song...
5. Choose Your Own Adventure. Not the books, though damn did I love those things when I was 8, and I should totally get some for my niece and nephew, and if you want to pimp your favorites that you think I should get for them, that's cool. Just, I meant...whatever topic is on your mind.
*goes to make another pot of coffee and settle in for a long day*

seasons 1 and 2 are 12 episodes each! short seasons! season 3 is the first 20-ep order.
it is a very weird and fun and dark show. and YES Callum Blue is in the season 2 finale and is awesome. She's watching right now and her ep reactions are cracking me up because omg, I love my show so much and I'm so happy more of my friends are starting to watch.

And eventually I will make that bloody Eleven vid. Eventually.
I have not driven on ice. I in fact came home without my shopping in order to avoid having to cross the roads containing people driving on ice. Ireland is not good at this snow thing. I mean, we're terrible. The roads are full of people going 'Argh! Snow! What do I do? I WANT MY MAMMY!'

YAY! Can eventually be now? What if I make a really sad face until you start? I've got an excellent sad face.
You are wise to avoid. SNOW IS EVIL. I thought I was prepared, 'cause I've lived through Chicago winters the last few years. I did not take into account the part where Chicago is flat and Colorado really, really isn't. My poor little car may never forgive me.

Oh, once the episodes finish downloading I will be vidding like mad :D

Yay for festivids progress! I have the source and the song and that's about it, but still. It's something! \o/

That's half the battle, right there! When you've got that your brain can work on it in the background even when you're not actively in the timeline. At least that is what I am telling myself as I find ways to procrastinate instead of actually working on it. :D

However, I think you should watch Sherlock. That's where the action is, man.

The action, in this case, is both literal
and sexual.*halo*

I have seen Sherlock! And enjoyed it muchly, but it did not strike a fannish spark for me. Is a show that I will watch with much enjoyment, and the fannish glee it inspires in my people with even more enjoyment though :)

D:
Also, I am trying to stay away from the Sherlock BBC Kinkmeme. Trying oh so very hard.
