YES. The forgetting scene was very much a big neon arrow to Future Things. Especially in context of the crack and the themes of forgetting and remembering this season. If the point was just to kill Rory, then there was no need for *any* of that.
I suspect we'll get him back, I really WANT us to get him back, but I also reserve judgement on even the scenarios where we don't until I've seen how it resolves.
