So today after brunch I went to go see The Fall with [livejournal.com profile] slodwick and [livejournal.com profile] celli and [livejournal.com profile] taraljc. And...and...I'm kind of without words. It's brilliant and breathtaking and beautiful and I am desperately in love with it. The actor who plays the little girl just knocks it out of the park and owns that movie (and Lee Pace is fantastic too) I think I am too stupid to explain why I loved it so, but I did. It has been a long time since I've sat in a theater with honest tears just streaming down my face both in joy and sorrow, but this did it. Go see it if you can.

Yay! Two days in a row leaving the house! Brunch with [livejournal.com profile] pipsqueaky, [livejournal.com profile] renenet, and [livejournal.com profile] vagabondage yesterday, and then I went to go see Wanted with [livejournal.com profile] vagabondage today. Wanted is truly shallow as a puddle, however, Angelina Jolie is seriously hawt, the effects are wicked cool, things blow up, and the body count is impressively high. I don't really ask for much more than that out of my summer movies. I feel the need for a good apocalypse though. Are there any good apocalyptic movies coming out soon? Or that are already out, since I tend to miss stuff sometimes, so if the world is coming to an end at a theater near me, please let me know.

Oh, and y'all? We saw the preview for Mummy 3...I WANT IT RIGHT NOW PLEASE. I love those movies with a glee that is unholy.

What are you all up to today? Tell me of your favorite summer movies of years past. Are you as easily bought off by shit blowing up and slow-mo action ass kicking as me? Or do you require those...watcha call 'em? Plots that make sense?

Just like I pinky swore I'd do, I started watching the movies that resulted from the random selection thing I did yesterday (there's still time to participate if you too want to play russian roulette with my eyeballs). I got through two so far.

[livejournal.com profile] celli said asked for Cinemax and C, which since there was no C on the listing stuck me with:

[livejournal.com profile] thefourthvine gave me Showtime and I, resulting in

Years ago, I used to watch movies all the time. And by all the time I mean, everything. Good, bad, and absolutely horrible. I got kicked out of 7th grade for ditching school to movie hop at the local theater, where I'd watch everything that was playing. I cleaned out the local video store on a regular basis. I miss that. I shouldn't. I'm paying out the nose for cable that provides me with a billion channels of movies, including the ridiculously priced pay channels, right there at my fingertips, any time I want them with the whole onDemand thing. I think maybe it is the overwhelming number of choices that is stopping me. So, to preserve the random I ask you for help.

Give me a channel (HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, or the Free Movies) and a letter of the alphabet. I will watch the first movie in the onDemand listings for that channel either starting with that letter, or if there is none with the letter that comes right after that. The more of you that comment, the more likely I will stumble across something either really good or fantastically horrible. I pinky swear to abide by whatever comes up, so think what horrors you could be putting me through. I also promise to tell you what it is you made me watch, but there might be whining.

Hit me.
