Today is an awesome day.

1. I am getting ready to go to an early matinee with Zen. What I am not doing is getting ready to go to chemo, and now it's finally hitting me that part of treatment is really and truly over. 'Cause it's Monday and I'm going to a movie. And I'm not wearing a button up shirt. Which is a silly thing to get excited about but...see, I have to wear a button up shirt so my port is accessible. And so every Monday morning, this is what I wear. Except not today. Today I'm wearing a t-shirt. And I'm going to the movies. Hell to the yeah.

2. I am still in a happy ball of squee over Merlin and it's adorableness and the fact that since we just started the new season there will soon be more new Merlin and more after that.

3. Based on the comments of several people on my Fringe post, I kept pushing on through a...less than impressive early season. And I am so very glad I did. Because it went from being clunky with a great premise, to being meh with a great premise, to suddenly getting OMFG AWESOME on me starting around mid-season. Once it got it's legs under it, it started delivering on all the things I wanted it to be, but was frustrated that it wasn't in the early episodes. I finished up the season kicking my feet and waving my hands in GLEE and making all kinds of joyful squeaky noises. I has a new shooooooow!

What is awesome about your day?

Success! Just got home from movie Monday, and it was as awesome as anticipated. We went to see Extract, which I was not expecting to love as much as I did and ended up adoring. Zen and I laughed a lot. And it was chock full of loserboys just for me, being adorably loserific in ways guaranteed to set me to flailing, facepaliming, and wishing to pass out hugs and cookies. Highly recommended if you have need of laughing your ass off.

Then there was a trip to Best Buy to replace my wireless router that died on me last week. And then a stop at the Hostess outlet (I did not know such a wonder existed but it DOES), to stock up on nummy baked goods. I have Hostess cherry pies, oh yes I doooooooo. No chocolate pies though, I love them and I almost never see them anymore which makes me sad.

You know what doesn't make me sad? (And I'll stop bringing it up as soon as I get used to the novelty of it) NOT BEING AT CHEMO. It is 2 pm. Right now is when I would usually be emerging hazily from a benadryl coma, as the last of the chemo finished up, waiting for a nurse to come in and disconnect the port, feeling like utter incoherent crap and bracing for the ick to get ickier. Instead I am gaining energy instead of losing it. Feeling better by the hour and better yet to come. I LIKE IT. I LIKE IT A LOT.
