Home from Wisconsin! Finally got around to watching the Doctor Who xmas special this morning, so, thoughts behind the cut
My overall state of mind is not particularly squeeful lately, so less capslock than usual, but I really, really enjoyed that a lot. Tennant and Morrissey were fantastic and I adored their interaction from start to finish, and Rosita was delightful. There was hope dripping all over this story, which I love in my Who, and humans being extraordinary, which I love just as much. Combine the two with things that make me laugh (and I am easily amused), stompy robot cheese, running about, and a few explosions and you have a happy Eunice indeed. I wish I was more flaily hands excited, and any other time I think this ep would have got wild capslock followed by several tl;dr meta posts on the nature of companions and loneliness and hope and the power of imagination and creativity and running for the stars. For now it just felt like a big comforting Doctor Who hug that was exactly what I needed and wanted. Can't ask for more than that.
