I am way behind on both my f'list and comments, and still not quite up to full LJ participation, but checking in to wave hi. I have grand hopes that I will get rid of the drains tomorrow at my first surgical followup, because these things are both annoying and gross. I've also got a good look at the scars, and I'm pretty sure I can live with them. The staples make them look like a hideous office supply accident, but like the drains are only temporary. The lack of nipples is a bit creepy, but I rather enjoy the thought of going shirtless by the pool and scaring small children this summer. Nearly full range of motion back in my right arm, the left...not so much. I'm trying not to worry about that too much since it's only been a week and they did scoop out my left armpit like a grapefruit to get all those lymph nodes. It would just really suck to have permanent damage to that shoulder since I'm left handed.
Mostly just been hanging out with my mom and kid watching tons of stuff. In addition to introducing the kiddo to Merlin (big hit), I discovered that I had neglected an important part of his education when discussion revealed that he had never seen a single Die Hard movie. I know why we didn't watch them when he was, like, ten...but there is no excuse for this at 17. So yesterday and today was spent watching all four movies. He is now well versed in the proper use of the phrase 'yippee ki yay, motherfucker', and I feel confident that should he ever have to take down terrorists barefoot, he has the appropriate vocabulary.
