You guys. I don't even know. In fact, if anyone can explain to me what the hell just happened here it would be awesome. See, there I was, all my software installed, ready to go. And I start ripping my DVDs when I hit a read error. And it's not just any read error, it's on the EXACT CHAPTER of the disc I needed. Four the next FOUR HOURS I tried every trick in the book to get the damn thing to rip with nothing. THERE WERE TEARS. And so I'm standing there in front of my cupboard, having tried every way I know how to clean a CD, a total mess and I've got nothing to lose since I'm now convinced it's scratched beyond repair...when I see the wood oil. And I think 'self, that's a really dumb idea, but dumb ideas are all we have left'. So I buffed the problem DVD with FUCKING WOOD OIL. Guess what? It ripped in less than thirty seconds without *blinking*. I do not even know. THAT SHOULD NOT HAVE WORKED. HOW DID THAT EVEN WORK?
Desperation...sometimes it leads to the strangest places.
