Yeah, I was sad, too. We haven't seen much ElevenAngst, and I'm actually pretty happy about that because we got way too much of that before. But this episode was a keen reminder that he is not All Better Now.

Possibly one of my favorite things about Eleven is how much of his coping mechanisms can be summed up as 'suck it up and deal'. But it's in this very...self-aware way? Like, he is obviously trying not to repeat past mistakes in a way that shows he's aware of them, and there are flashes of him losing his shit, but he's not *dwelling*...and he's doing his damndest to keep it from hurting the people around him.

I love that it pretty much takes a forced externalization of what's going on in the darker parts of his fucked up little mind to see *just* how hard that is for him. And how much he hates himself for it (OH BUNNY).
