Heads up if you use Amazon to order books. Remember how I was still waiting on my books, which I had paid extra for next day delivery on? Still waiting, that's not the worst of it. Yeah, the shipper on my info was, wtf, some place called A1 Courier services. At 8 pm I spoke to A1's 'customer service' and was told that my tracking indicated that it was still out, that there should be no problem in it getting to me, and that delivery could be as late as 9 pm and to call after 9 if it still hadn't arrived. 9 pm rolls around. No books, tracking info is the same, I call back. And am told that the department that deals with Amazon deliveries shuts down at...oh hey, 9 pm. When they told me to call back. So the first guy pretty much punted me to when he knew he, and everyone else supposed to help me, would be gone. CLASSY.
This morning I go to check the status again. My tracking now reads that my books were delivered at 2:30 pm yesterday. Y'know, when I was sitting here in my house with my door open, and the tracking still read 'out for delivery'...as it still did when I went to bed at midnight last night. As it did at 8 pm when I was actually speaking to them and informing them my books had not arrived, and their computer system was also saying my books had not arrived. This isn't even subtly changing the info after the fact.
Go read that thread. My experience is not unique. It seems to be closer to the norm with this particular service that Amazon is now using. If you order from them and see A1 Courier listed as your shipper, BE AFRAID.
...and now I start the process of trying to figure out just where in the hell my books actually are, and getting a refund on the shipping costs because OH HELL NO.
