Morning! The fire continues to snake it's way north at an...alarming rate. However if you look at the updated version of the map I posted last night (same link), it continues to stay to the east like I wanted it to. They do not expect the fire to be contained until July 16th. It's gonna be a long three weeks.
For me, the bigger concern right now is not evacuation but the fact that 24 is closed for the foreseeable future. I am supposed to go into the hospital for my pre-op appointment tomorrow. Now that the only direct route into Colorado Springs is cut off that goes from an hour drive in to...a three hour drive around. Which is just. They are actually going to allow me to do the pre-op appointment over the phone. But I do have to actually get in on the 3d. Unless they've figured out a way to do surgery over the phone. Which would be nifty. But implausible. I don't even know. I think what I'll probably try to do is go the night before and stay in a hotel or something if they can't get 24 open again by then.
Stupid fire. *kicks it*
