I think this will be my last fire update unless anything changes dramatically. It sounds like they are making excellent progress on containing the fire now, particularly on the north and west sides. Evacuations are still in place for Woodland Park, but I suspect they will be lifted fairly soon. I consider it a good sign, fire wise, that petty politics has started to take over the twitter feed because there's just not that much to talk about in terms of fire activity. Personal favorite is the theory that the fire was started by Muslim terrorists on order of Obama. I wish I was joking. New fires continue to bust out in Colorado (though not near me at the moment). Just..we are at the beginning of fire season. It's gonna be a bumpy ride.

Speaking of politics, though...how about that Supreme Court decision? My reaction can be summed up thusly...\o/ \o/ \o/ \o/. Looks like yours truly may actually get coverage. It's weird, I try to think about what the last 4 years (and prior, but particularly the last 4) would have been like if I'd had insurance and I can barely even imagine it. Navigating patchwork systems of assistance through costly medical crisis has been a nightmare at best. And with large holes that have cost me and my family thousands and thousands of dollars anyway. And I'm one of the lucky ones, in that we have been able to afford that, I haven't had to make the decision between medical care and, like, eating as so many have. This is a good thing. This is a very good thing.
