It is over now. Nothing left to do but vid Tess/Zod. And tell y'all to go ahead and watch this season. Even if you gave up on Smallville a long time ago. Especially if you did. Because that fucking ROCKED.
Okay, so Chloe is the baddest mothafucker in the land. I mean, I loved her way back when, but she grew up so awesome I can barely stand it. Seriously, DO NOT FUCK WITH CHLOE. She will take your ass down. Hell, even if she loves you she will take your ass down for your own good and you will LIKE IT. Say yes ma'am and be on your way. Speaking of...
Oh, Ollie. I ended up saying that a lot this season. I actually had a list going of things Ollie needs. It starts with 'therapy, SO MUCH THERAPY'. But really what he needs most is for someone else to step in and decide what he needs and tell him what to do. Thank you Chloe. Clark is not nearly top enough for Ollie's needs. Now tie that boy up, make him beg, and he'll thank you for it in the morning. I think he already did, actually. <3
I'm not sure I can textually render how much I love Lois. I love her ambition and her tenacity and her costumes and that she loves monster truck rallies and big balls of yarn and can throw down with the best of them and just...<3 <3 <3 <3
TESS!!!! Morally ambiguous idealism gone wrong is just about my favorite flavor of evil, and she looks so HOT doing it. I just, I love her. There is nothing more dangerous than someone who believes they are right so strongly that there is nothing they wouldn't do for the cause. It makes her sympathetic and horrifying and fascinating all at the same time. And, like, I am all for redemption but at the same time I still wonder if shifting her True Believer focus is actually redeeming Tess or just making her more useful to the 'correct' side. Note that I write this assuming she is NOT actually dead. Until proven otherwise I believe whatever is going on with Creepy Knitting Lady means we have not yet seen the last of Tess.
I fear we have seen the last of Zod though. KNEEL BEFORE ZOD (no, that is never going to get old) I WILL MISS HIM SO MUCH. Competent Evil is my other favorite flavor and Zod played that game so well that it left me clapping my hands in delight. And it isn't like he didn't have his reasons. I still say it isn't too much to ask for him to win. It is just one tiny planet he was going to crush under his boot. That isn't too much to ask. God, humanity is so selfish wanting to be free from tyrannical alien rule.
And Clark...oh, Clark. Bless. You know, I think he is finally managing to slip under the wall of disinterest I have in Superman as a hero through the power of Loser Boy. I mean, seriously...Clark. *shakes head* I love how even his friends are constantly behind his back going 'Now, I know we love him but lets all remember he isn't exactly very bright and we should take that into account' He is very sweet and loyal and wants to do the right thing, though. Like a golden retriever, only not quite as smart. <3
Also. ALSO. RED QUEEN!!!! OMFG RED QUEEN!! As reveals go? THAT WAS PRETTY FUCKING AWESOME. Actually, as reveals go this whole season has been pretty fucking awesome. Twisting all over the place on this mad rollercoaster ride of fun plots and actiony goodness and there were ZOMBIES. So. Much. Fun.
I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm totally tuning in for next season. Even without Zod. Way to go Smallville. NICELY DONE!
