mresundance Once Upon a Time ...and it occurred to me that I forgot to post my episode reaction to the latest episode aired, so I shall do that now, because I have something to say.
So, stop me if you've heard this one before. The protagonist meets a flirty eye candy love interest with ties to the villain and a rather thin backstory which relates entirely to those two. A connection is formed which the protagonist resists because they walk alone dammit. Love interest gets enough of a backstory fleshed out to start making them interesting, and to finally break down the walls of the protagonist who starts to feel and stuff. Just in time for the villain to do horrible things to and kill love interest right at that moment. This causes great angst and pain to the protagonist and drives their story forward towards the big confrontation with the villain because This Time It's Personal.
Yeah, that's right. Once Upon a Time just fridged the Huntsman in service of Emma Swan's womanpain. I AM DELIGHTED, YOU GUYS. NO, SERIOUSLY. I NEED ALL CAPS. Much like the moment when I realized they put Prince Charming in a coma so Snow could kiss him back to life and I literally started clapping with glee.
