You know what I'd love to see? A ficathon challenge thingie that was all about how Rose Tyler moved on in her alternate universe. I want to see stories that show her coming to terms with her new life and figuring out that she's going to be okay. There could be angsty stories where she works through the pain of a final realization that it's really over and has a letting go moment. There could be kick ass defender of the Earth stories where she's having a ball holding off alien invasions. There could be sweet family fic where she, Jackie and Pete adjust to their new family dynamics. Pretty much the only restriction would be that the alt universe really is closed off for good, and that it's not the end of the world that it is. Pain is fine, just pain in a broader context that life goes on. Well that and I'd insist the stories all be Rose positive, no bashing.
I don't write fic and I'm not involved enough in the fandom at large to pull such a thing off so this is me making puppy dog eyes at those of you who could make something like that happen. See how hopeful I am? Don't you want to do this for me?
