I went from feeling actually pretty fantastic save for some soreness to feeling like I got run over by a truck. Bah. My aftercare instructions and dr. google both inform me that this is normal while my body adjusts to relying solely on synthetic thyroid hormones (and it may take several months to get the levels just right), but it is kinda frustrating. In the meantime I am napping a lot.

Also, all my planned viewing went out the window on account of I was wandering around Netflix and realized that of the Star Treks the only one I hadn't seen yet was Voyager, so I started that and have been mainlining it from my prone position on the couch as my internet allows it to buffer (shakes fist at crappy internet). Am very much enjoying it and don't plan on stopping any time soon. About halfway through season 1 right now. If there are not about a zillion Paris/Kim slash fics on the interweb I will be so disappointed.

Also, also, I was watching Through The Wormhole with Morgan Freeman because, why wouldn't you? Morgan Freeman and science together, people. But, anyway, this episode was about the possibility of the afterlife and it was kinda cool because there was an explanation for a possible afterlife that I could sorta buy. Which, as a hardcore atheist was surprising to me. I don't know if I'm on board at all, but it is fun to think about. The thing was a theory that the process of consciousness/self relies on quantum connections in the brain, and something about quantum connections being possible over distances outside the physical body that when the body shuts down they could jump? I dunno. It was way more sciency the way it was explained, even though I suspect it is more wishful thinking than actual reality it was nifty. Did I mention Morgan Freeman?

*\O/* Oh, Voyager. :happysigh: For me it really got good around S4. I loved the "shipwrecked" theme, constantly looking for home. Gareth had a friend who owned every episode of every ST on VHS (giggle) and he used to borrow half a season at a time. I got hooked while he was making his way through Voyager, and then about halfway through the final season, his friend moved to Australia and left us hanging. Oh the humanity! We had to wait for every 3-ep tape to come in at Blockbuster so we could find out what happened. I'm in the process of collecting all the seasons on DVD, now they're down to a reasonable price. My favourite character is the Doctor.

Funny, something else made me think of Voyager last night. Maybe it's time for a rewatch. It's a show I'd quite like to vid, actually.

I need the rest of the DVDs before I can vid it. Hmm, and an idea, and a song... but the latter should come with a rewatch. And I've dropped some very heavy birthday hints on my family re the DVDs :o)
