Oh my god, it's like familypalooza around these parts. I'm attempting to do some catch up with my coffee this morning, but dear lord. My eldest brother arrived with his three kids shortly after my mother left, and will be here for another week. My kid got here a few days ago for an extended visit. And my father and his wife are also here up at the main house for their regular summer visit. I love them all. I'm also just about ready to chuck them all in the ocean and move to an even more secluded cabin higher in the mountains without leaving a forwarding address. :)
Fannishly, the kiddo and I are watching both the original series Star Trek (because it turns out I am a horrible parent and he's never seen it, I don't even know how that happened), and Vampire Diaries (which neither of us have seen, and which I will have Many Thoughts about coming soon).
Was also trying to make heads or tails of the recent Mark Watches wank I saw mentioned on my f'list (back when I was doing my last BtVS rewatch someone pointed me there, but I found his reviews kinda boring and didn't go back until now). And really, mostly my reaction to the whole thing after wading through a large chunk of it...other than wondering if I've been transported by time machine to 2001. Well, can someone tell my why I should give a single bag of dicks what a man thinks I should think, feel, or how I should process rape culture and feminist readings of text? Or why my reaction to him shutting down, dismissing, shaming, and yelling at women attempting to relate their own experiences with same as MRA rape apologists because he somehow understands feminist theory as it relates to their lives better than they do with anything other than disgusted scorn and a heaping help of 'shut the fuck up'? Because I can't think of a single one. I never got into his site because he bored me. Now I never will because he's an asshole. There, that's sorted.
And now I hear a horde of tiny children outside my door so I need to go be Auntly for awhile. <3 to you all.
