I am not at all ashamed to admit I started doing a bouncy chair dance at the opening music (even though they changed it), because OMG HERE WE GO. Catherine Tate's name flying by in the credits SQUEE!

Right, so, episode. I have this to say about Ten and Donna together. \o/ \o/ \o/ YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!

Partners in crime indeed. Together, THEY FIGHT ALIENS. I may have made a very loud squeaky sound and clapped a lot at the hugging and the "just like old times" and the running! And I love, love, love investigative, stubborn Donna deciding what she wants and then going out and getting it. Good for her. And here's what I think. I think she was right that guided tours weren't going to take her where she wanted to be. But I also think, Doctor or no, she was on her way to a life of adventure. He's where she knows she can find it, so he's who she's looking for. But look at her! Once she got on that path...aliens! Conspiracies! Dissapearing bees (WTF?)! Oh yeah, Donna was on the verge of an interesting life one way or the other. Just one more step, one more push left...and who else believes that if she hadn't found the Doctor that push would have been running across Sarah Jane and her wee crew? And now we get to come along too! YAY!

DID YOU NOTICE THERE WAS HUGGING? BECAUSE THERE WAS. JUST FOR ME.

Oh, Ten. Your lonely breaks my heart. Your lonely breaks my heart more when you acknowledge the brilliance of one Martha Jones, what you lost, and how you lost it. He knows. He said it. Her absence is felt. 'Scuse me while I tear up a tiny bit. For Martha, and yeah, for Rose, and for the truth that he doesn't get to keep them, not any of them, not ever. But when it comes again, with a pile full of luggage and a loud mouth and a mind wide open to the universe? You don't run away, and you don't try to hide. You try out this odd new thing called direct emotional honesty, grab on, and go running for the stars because it's worth it. A lesson hard won, but hell yeah.

Adorable baby aliens and a SPACESHIP. WHEEEEEEEEE!!!! I love me a good spaceship. And dueling sonic things! Running and leaping and hanging from cables and, okay, nothing really blew up, but there were some sparks and things, and it's only the first episode. Also? Donna's Gramps is adorable with his thermos and his telescope. I squish him!

Surprise dissapearing Rose...I am intrigued as to how this fits in with the season arc. Given that crossing dimensions is first of all not supposed to be able to happen, and second established as a really bad thing for the health of the universes when it does, I can only imagine something big is on the way. How, what, why? I actually do not know. I am only very mildly spoiled in terms of actual plot this season and I think from this point out I'm going completely and totally spoiler free of any kind. 'Cause I get the feeling it's gonna be a doozy.

Call me a satisfied Eunice. MY SHOW IS BACK. YAY DONNA!

Oh, one more thing...I am trying not to let my inner 'ship whore out this season, but if Ten and Donna keep being all...*waves hands*...together I am going to FAIL, so fair warning.
