Good morning, internets! I am, very slowly, beginning to crawl out of the hole of suck (knock wood), so update to get myself posting again, in list form!
1.) As of today I am the mother of a seventeen year old. Seventeen. That's only two years younger than how old I was when I birthed him. WEIRD. I have no idea how I got so lucky to have the awesome kid that I do, but I wouldn't have missed this ride for the world. Happy birthday, kiddo.
2.) The hives have not gone away, but they have become way more manageable. At this point there is not much left to do but hope that they either decide to clear up as spontaneously as they appeared, try treating my other medical conditions in case they are related, and stock up on calamine and deal. Now that acceptance has settled in, I find myself far less whiny emo tragic about the whole thing. I itch, therefore I am or something.
3.) Fannish input has begun again. I have watched the first ten episodes of Merlin (the remaining three to follow sometime today), and do declare it adorably shiny crack. I confess, I only began watching it to keep up with friends, and had thought that I would enjoy it in a removed sort of non flaily way. I was WRONG, and very much welcome back the presence of clappy hands glee into my life.
Also very much of the clappy hands glee making, Leverage, which I am now entirely caught up on and DESPERATELY IN LOVE WITH OMG. I absolutely adore these characters both together (TEAM!) and individually (*draws pink sparkly hearts on all of them*). And if anyone here is even remotely surpised that I am now OT3ing the heck out of Parker/Hardsion/Eliot, well, you don't know me at all.
Am excited for Torchwood from preview, and for upcoming Who and such, but still feeling a bit...skittish for engagement (my return to glee is still fragile, and, I love you DW/TW fandom, I do, but I think this little separation for a time is good for us both). Capslock flailing and deep thoughts about shallow shit almost surely to return in the future.
4.) Fannish output possibly beginning again, as various tech woes of past months (do not even get me started) resolve, and talking about projects starts to inch me towards actually attempting to vid again. Of course, the most likely projects to result from this at the moment are a six minute Durham County vid that may included necrophelia, and a Survivor vid. So, it is possible the only person for whom this is good news is me.
5.) David Tennant will never not make me happy, and Hugh Dillon will never not be awesome. Space remains the coolest thing ever. I still love hugs. I am a ROCK STAR on Guitar Hero, having now defeated Crazy Train on Expert.
6.) Here, have the song that is today's 'listen on repeat, because awesome' bit of joy in my life, Roots Radical by Rancid (right click, download)
