Woo! Last drain and the rest of the staples out!! I have to get the port on Tuesday, but it's a minor day surgery and (knock wood) the last surgery I'll have to do for awhile. Mood is still swinging all over the place and I really miss being able to focus on fannish things. I started watching this last season of The Sarah Connor Chronicles yesterday only to have the second episode be all about how Sarah is going to die from cancer, THANKS EVER SO. Yup, hearing all about how one of your favorite female characters is doomed to die from the same disease you have isn't at all upsetting. *headdesk*
Also, having actually experienced a removal of the lymph nodes means my 'WTF? No, seriously, WTF?' face was mighty when the dude was explaining that's where he got his scar. On the outside of his arm on his bicep visible under a short sleeved shirt. Uh, no. There are no lymph nodes where his scar was. Lymph node dissection takes place under the armpit. This is not just for breast cancer, when they thought I had Hodgkins and were telling me how that surgery would go, the scar would have been in the same place, just not extending across my chest. And I get that it needed to be visible for Sarah to ask about it, but they couldn't have at least put it on the underside of his arm? Y'know, in the vague general direction of lymph nodes.
And I realized that there is now a whole new set of things I am going to be nitpicky about in my television watching. And I'm putting the rest of TSCC on hold for awhile, I think.
