Beware, there might be spam ahead today. My sleep schedule has been ten kinds of messed up lately, and despite a valiant effort at lying in bed staring exhausted at the ceiling for hours, I was still up at 4 am. AGAIN. So instead of letting myself crash out I'm gonna try to stay awake all day, and collapse at a decent hour tonight. Hopefully this will knock me back on to some kind of normal schedule. It also means I am loopy and in need of distractions, which may include bugging you guys.

So first I will tell you how I was assisted in my effort to stay awake by watching the movie Paranormal Activity. HOLY SHIT Y'ALL. [personal profile] sisabet warned me it was scary, but I've gotten kind of jaded about horror movies. Either I find them more funny than frightening (which is entertaining all on it's own) or they are of the torture porn variety which is disturbing and gross to me, but not in the scared way so much as the DO NOT WANT way.

So I'm sitting there as it starts and I'm thinking 'yeah, I yawned my way through The Blair Witch Project so whatevs' and by the end I was literally hiding under my blanket and worse (and by worse I mean AWESOME) it's all sticky in my head so I'm going to be freaking the fuck out over it in a lingering way. If you enjoy being totally creeped out, this is a movie for YOU my friends. And I'm sure as hell not going to sleep any time soon, that shit is better than the two pots of coffee I've already sucked down for that.

CANT SLEEP...*SPOILER* will GET ME. Talk to me people. I'm hanging out over in #vidding on sff.net too if you are a chatter.

*uses Hugh icon, 'cause Hugh ain't scared of no ghosts*

Awesome! I haven't seen a movie that actually spooked me since... BWP (I saw it at Sundance, very late on a night with a full moon, and everyone in the packed theater was creeped out). *g*

Ah, no wonder you yawned and got annoyed. I was totally unspoiled for BWP, which made all the difference. When it was over, the lights didn't come on immediately, and I still remember how we all sat in the dark, tense, skin crawling. Someone finally started yelled, "Turn on the lights!" and that broke the tension, but... eeee.

I cut my teeth on horror films, and my mom read me Poe at bedtime -- no lie! -- so now I really want to see PA. :D

Oh my GOD!
The night that I watched that movie, I stayed up ALLLL night! lol
Im usually the chick in the back row laughing her ass off with every kill and cataloging for splatter points, cool one-liners, worst death ever, yadda.
Yes...I too hid. My So came out in the morning to find me on the sofa curled up trying to wash it all away with Disney musicals.
lol
Did. Not. Work. It was like mental napalm....took me a good couple weeks to get some of the ...uuh...night images out of my head.
Yeah you know the one.....that one. In the middle.
That was the scariest thing. *resisting urge to spoilerfy everything*
It was the creep factor on this one.....it just freakin GETS under your skin.

Sorry I wasnt up to help you through the night.
