morning rambles

Good morning, internet. What are you all up to today?

Me, I'm spending my morning reading Sweet Valley High recaps over at 1bruce1, first because they are funny as hell and second because it's always good to remind yourself of when you were 11 and read those books obsessively thinking they were the best thing EVAR, in case you ever forget that sometimes your judgement is seriously flawed. Seriously, what the hell 11 year old me? What the hell.

In case you missed the first rec, I'm going to point you towards sweetestdrain's Donna vid Don't Lose Yourself again because it is amazing and perfect and I have been watching it obsessively since last night because it's under my skin and, yes, THAT.

We won't talk about the moment last night when my current obsessions crossed streams and my brain started wondering if Donna could save Joe Dick and decided that she could because she'd put up with his shit for approximately six seconds before snorting in his face, whacking him upside the head with a microphone stand, and giving him a look that said "Whatever, freak-boy, I am way tougher than you." leaving him absolutely speechless for the first time in his life. I am disturbed by me.

Has Middleman finished it's season yet? I've been waiting so I could marathon the whole thing at once, and I'm really looking forward to it.

I missed the Olympics opening ceremony, 'cause I'm just not feeling it this time out. Hopefully the excitement will hit for the gymnastics and diving competitions because those are my two favorites. I wonder what the big inspirational moment will be this time. My favorite is still one at the Australia summer Olympics where the dude who ended up swimming his heat alone and was struggling and the whole audience was on their feet cheering him on and it made me cry like a little bitch and have faith in humanity. I'm not a big sports person, but I do love the way it can bring out the very best in people.
