Two days. And it has already begun, on account of
vagabondage and I have a
sockkpuppett already, and there was hugging, oh yes there was. I roped Lum into helping me with my Club Vivid shirt yesterday which meant spending a good part of the day with glitter and stencils which was awesome. Why are there not more opportunities for grown ups to play with glitter and stencils?
And talking about vids with her, which is always amazing, started to solidify what I think my goals are for this year. The last few it has been all about focusing hard on cutting and understanding the structure of music. And while I expect to continue improving and learning in that area, I think I feel comfortable enough with where I am that it really is time to start pushing myself elswhere. Color confounds me, much as beats and structure used to, so it seems a good place to start. I don't use it deliberately as of now, though sometimes I can look back at a vid and see where it came into play accidentally. I am really, really looking forward to Lum's panel and using that as a springboard to start really paying attention and playing around and seeing where it takes me.
It was quite cool chatting with her yesterday and having this sort of light bulb moment about the Hard Core Logo vid when I nearly jumped ten feet and went "Blue! OMG, Joe is almost always backlit by BLUE, or wearing blue!" and then some dissapointment when I realized that I did not take advantage of how Billy is often, by contrast, red, and then there are the golds and oranges. I'm not sure how to use this sort of thing in the future, but I'm looking forward to giving a whack at trying it out. :)
EEEEEEEE, VVC!
