So, I don't actually watch American Idol and my entire knowledge of David Cook comes from the rather adorable ramblings of friends. But, greensilver made a vid. Which I watched. And now I am bouncing and grinning and informing you that if you need to be all smiley, point and flail, at absolute ADORABLENESS, you totally need to go watch her David Cook vid. There are hugs! And smiles! And sparkly shinies. Did I mention the hugs? SO MANY HUGS! Some of them involving small children, even. And while it's never going to be my fandom, I now totally get why some of y'all are clappy hands gleeful over this boy. He is precious. So, yes...need cheering up today? Go watch this vid. Then try to wipe the permagrin off your face. I dare you.

Now I'm just spamming, but we've gone from utter glee to heartbreaking tragedy in a very short time. Why? The realization that I will almost certainly never have a Hugh Dillon action figure. I am so used to my people being in genre shows where at least the opportunity to purchase an action figure will present itself, that this horrible truth did not even occur to me until now. But then I'm talking to greensilver and fangirling her over her vid and the conversation drifts to my irrational resentment of CKR, and how sometimes I wish I had a voodoo doll of him to stick pins in (don't try to make sense of it, I did note that it is entirely irrational) and how it would probably be easy to make such a doll. Except what I really want is a Hugh action figure to place lovingly on my desk with my other action figures, because this is a key component in how I express my PURE TRUE LOVE, and it will never be. WOE. DESPAIR. I might need to go rewatch that David Cook vid a bunch more times or something. Or get to work on figuring out how to stick pins in CKR. Either one would probably cheer me up.
