Who wants to answer a question about vegetables? You do! And no, I'm not just speaking to
heresluck I want all opinions.
See, okay, in my quest to be healthier I'm doing something new with my eating. Having meals delivered was convenient and it worked, but it also wasn't very economic or flexible. So I'm trying something that incorporates two very important things about my eating habits. I tend to graze rather than eat actual meals. And I'm lazy. SO LAZY. Also, I can't cook. So my grocery shopping involves three questions, 1) is it healthy and good for me, 2) can it be eaten on it's own with little to no preparation, 3) do I like it enough that I'll actually eat it. A no to any of the three questions and I don't get it. The end result is that I've actually been eating healthier than I have in a long time, and that's including when I was getting meals delivered.
Here's where the question comes in because I'd like to know if I'm a weirdo. One of the things on my list this week was corn on the cob. And today, because I am LAZY (see above), I thought about cooking it but then went, fuckit and ate it raw. AND IT WAS YUMMY THAT WAY. Yummier than cooked IMO. Which led to the realization that I am far more likely to enjoy
most vegetables more raw and not cooked. They taste better to me that way. Like, I absolutely cannot stand cooked spinach, but I'll eat raw spinach like there's no tomorrow.
So, veggies. Do you usually cook them? Am I strange? And if you do like your veggies raw, what are your favorites (aside from the usual carrots and whatnot)? I feel like this knowledge allows me to branch out some, 'cause there have got to be veggies I've eaten cooked and not cared for but that are AWESOME raw and I just don't know 'cause I haven't tried.
