The good: I will be headed off to see my kid next week. Since we did not do holidays this year, this is awesome. Also it's close enough to celebrate his 18th birthday a bit early. OMFG EIGHTEEN. My friends who have recently had babies in the last few years or have really young children...JUST YOU WAIT. Someday you will be facing OMFG EIGHTEEN too. Of course...I'll be facing a kid in his thirties then. *cries*

The mixed bag: In order to get to the kid I will be hitching a ride with my brother and my three nephews. My three nephews who are all under the age of 8, one of them a toddler. I love my nephews. I do not spend nearly enough time with them so I actually am looking forward to this. I suspect, though, that somewhere around the 7th hour of the drive when I've been hit in the head with a sippy cup for the tenth time, have run out of made up stories, and the sound of 'Aunt Euuuuuuuuunice' starts sounding like fingernails on a chalkboard...I will be less enthused. But they are adorable, so there's that.

The OH NOES: The date of this car ride? The 14th. Festivids golive, and More Joy Day. Which I will miss. Hopefully we won't get in too late so I can at least watch my vid made for me and say thank you to my festividder before the end of the day. I plan on spending the 15th parked on the couch watching festivids alllll day, though.

The haven't you learned by now, you dumbass: Do not check your stats after releasing a vid. Ever. It will just make you feel bad about yourself and insecure. No amount of actual logic regarding holiday weekends and obscure source will penetrate your self pity, so it's better to just NOT GO THERE. New Years resolution, stop checking stats.
