I am still in the depths of Wes pain at the moment...and I actually had to stop watching for awhile until I collect myself, because it turns out I'm really, really, really angry at Angel. Which is distressing because I love the big lunk, but I want to punch him so hard right now. 'Cause the thing is, I think Wes was wrong, really wrong, for not talking to Fred and Gunn and Cordy about what was going on with the prophecy, I do. But I don't think he was wrong for taking the baby. And he's not responsible for what went down, he's not to blame for it. Angel is. Angel is.
It's not Wes who has a history of losing his soul or having it temporarily repressed under the influence, or of going dark as shit even with it. And hurting the people he loves most while doing so. A history which made the prophecy absolutely believable. It's not Wes who destroyed countless families and killed how many children that brought him across Holtz's family and destroyed them, setting Holtz on the path that intersected with Angel's now. It wasn't Wes who locked Lilah in a basement with vampires to die, giving her all the motivation in the world to work with Sajan. Angel did all that.
The only thing Wes is guilty of with regards to Angel is trying to save him. Fuck Angel right now. Just...fuck him. What makes him so goddamn special that he deserves to live as though he didn't murder countless babies, but Wes deserves to die and/or be tossed out in the cold for trying to save his. No, seriously. Fuck Angel.
