Dude....DUDE. The results of my brca testing came back. NEGATIVE, BITCHES. I have no idea how I dodged that bullet. 36 at diagnosis, triple negative, family history, Ashkenazi Jewish descent. I was pretty much resigned to more surgery and the already dodgy odds regarding it coming back getting dodgier. Instead, I'm looking at the first thing that has improved my chances in a long time. NEGATIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVE. My genes are mutant free. Not only is this awesome for me, but it puts my little sister in the clear as well and that has been weighing on me. Can I get a WOO and a HOO!

So does this improve your overall prognosis, being BCRA-negative?

It makes it not worse. My age, triple negative, and positive lymph node status put me in the scarier zone...a positive brca test on top of that would have moved things to essentially 'when' not 'if'
I get to be an 'if' now. I WILL TAKE IT.
