Dear Festividder,
Hello! I can't tell you how excited I am that we are doing this, and believe me when I say I am really easy to please. How awesome are you for doing this? SO AWESOME! Festividder, it may be too soon in our relationship to say this, but I'm gonna say it anyway. I love you. A vid for any of these fandoms would make me do \o/ \o/ \o/ a lot. I don't dislike any genre of music, so go with what you feel fits the source best. I'm looking forward to seeing what you come up with. I want you to have fun Festividder, so that is my primary request of you. HAVE FUN! :D
If you'd like slightly more detail, it is under the cut. Oh! I am supposed to say if treat vids are okay for folks who might be coming by for that? To which I can only say OMG, dude, what a lovely and generous person you are, YES and I give you many hugs for even considering my list.
1. Dark Crystal [Movie] (safety)
A childhood favorite of mine, and really I would just love to see a vid, ANY vid for it. I don't really have specifics because just the thought that someone might vid it at all and I start...you know how when puppies get really excited and wag their tails and it causes their whole backside to go out of control and then they collapse into a wriggling puddle of joy? Like that.
2. Durham County [TV]
I love how unbelievably fucked up and dark and twisted this show is so please do not fear going there. The show certainly didn't. In terms of characters my favorites are Audrey and Sadie for being awesome in the face of some pretty awful things. I only have one worry here Festividder, and that is Mike Sweeney. I think he is a fascinating character and I would actually love a vid of him, but I also hate him. A vid which excused his behavior or tried to paint him as a sympathetic victim is not something I want at all :( If we all just remember that this is a man who does stuff like abandon his dying wife and beat up a homeless woman, it'll turn out fine.
3. Homicide: Life on the Street [TV]
How awesome is this show? SO AWESOME. Although Frank and Tim are my favorites, they do seem to get the majority of what fannish works are out there. So while I would ABSOLUTELY jump up and down in glee for a Frankentim vid, if you are so moved an ensemble vid or one that focused on any of the other characters, particularly those around from the early seasons...that would make me stupidly happy.
4. My So-Called Life [TV]
Being a teenager is HARD, Festividder. And I love the way this series captured this particular flavor of teen angst. The friendship trio of Angela, Rickie, and Rayanne was always my favorite aspect, so a BFF vid about them would rock.
5. Psych [TV]
I have one word for you, Festividder. GUS!!!!!! <3 Gus so much. Also love Gus/Shawn (slashy or not, up to you...though I myself have a hard time seeing them as anything but SO MARRIED).
6. Sliders [TV]
My biggest love is for the original sliding team of Quinn, Remy, Wade, and Arturo, and a team type ensemble vid of them would just be SO AWESOME. There's plenty of fun stuff to work with after the team changes, so have no fear if that's where your muse takes you, I'll still totes love you and the vid.
7. St. Elsewhere [TV]
Given how limited the available source is, Festividder whatever you can pull out of a hat might result in a marriage proposal from me. I can't fully express just how much I loved this show and how much it informed my television watching as I grew up. If you're here for this? I LOVE YOU SO MUCH.
8. The Wire [TV]
Dude, there isn't an aspect of this show you could focus on that wouldn't delight me. If you'd like slightly more direction, one of the things I've always really wanted is a vid that shows the world of Baltimore through Bubbles eyes and his struggles. You could make me cry so hard. Go on, hurt me. I want it.
Now, as I said what I want the most here is for you to HAVE FUN, so adopt or discard any of the above at will. YAY FESTIVIDS!!!
