I'm always whining, so how about some good news? My new GP is MAGICAL, you guys. I am guessing because it is an hour drive to see any kind of specialist he is used to wearing many hats for his patients. Whatever the reason, he spent over an hour going over my entire medical history with me, and was like 'we'll try this and this and this' without sending me off to my usual billionty doctors. Set up all the testing for my thyroid, which...if you've ever heard "The endocrinologist will see you...in four months" you know how fucking awesome that is all by itself. But, he also seems perfectly capable of handling med management for my crazy. Familiar with everything I've been on and how it all works that I had no problems going 'yeah, we'll just do that here'. So anyway, in addition to trying out a combo I hadn't been on before for the depression and anxiety stuff...I'd talked to him about both the horrid insomnia and the chronic pain. And he's like, I wanna try something. Adding amitriptylin for sleepytimes, 'cause it is also used off label for chronic nerve pain. Yeah. There has not been enough time for the crazytimes meds to really kick in yet, but guess whose pain levels have gone down?

MAGICAL, I TELL YOU.

Just keep an eye out: amitriptyline definitely encourages the putting on of the pounds.
