VIVIDCOOOOOOOOOOOOOON. Registration is next week, start practicing your mouseclicks now!

But, also, important! There are now posts up for suggestions for both vidshows and panels.

Here is the deal, a huge chunk of what makes Vividcon so awesome is how attendee participation drives the programming. Not only does this allow you fine people to show off your fabulous ideas, but it means that the con we get is the con we give. If you build it, they will come and all that. What we talk about, what we watch is all down to you. No pressure.

But, seriously, if you want your VVC experience to reflect your vidding interests, ya gotta step up. And, let me tell you, if I can do it? Anyone can. I've so far co-run both a panel and a vidshow and I am like, the most socially awkward person ever. Notice that I said co-run, because that is a good way to do this if you are like me and freaked out about it. Grab a partner, make some chocolate llama pops, kill some women, and it's all glowsticks.

And don't feel limited by the traditional format either. Remember that year Ian did the anime history vidshow and instead of the usual vid/vid/vid play list we got Cartoon Ian giving us an *awesome* history lesson in visual form? Got an idea like that? Propose it! There was some talk last year about wanting a more roundtable/seminar like panel format, instead of the usual person standing in front of the audience (I can't remember who I was talking to, dangit), but that is the kind of thing that would be fun to experiment with.)

You got ideas? Vividcon LOVES ideas. Bring it, baby. BRING IT. And newbies are not excused either. You can suggest things even if you aren't willing to run them, but also...don't be afraid to say 'I'll run that' either. You'll get plenty of help if you ask, and it's fun okay. It really is, and a good way to start claiming the con for your very own right from the start.

Seconding the idea of signing up for a vidshow even if you're a newbie! I really enjoyed doing that last year and it definitely improved my experience of the con, as I'm the sort of person who likes getting involved.
