I was gonna post last night after I watched the latest Doctor Who, but then I had too many thoughts! So many thoughts! I still have too many, but I reckon I will post incoherence now and sort it all out later.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHOMG. Okay, I'm not particularly surprised by the reveal of River being Amy's daughter since it has been high on random speculations in my head for awhile now, but I am EXCITE because it was one of my favorite theories despite the fact that it trashes one of my favorite girl pairings. 'Cause it also lends a different eye and weight to their earlier interactions that is really fun to go back and look at.
And with Rory. Suddenly I have a whole new eye for that scene where River confesses her fears about the day the Doctor won't know her anymore in the first ep this season. I did think it was a little weird at the time for her to go all soul baring to a near stranger while looking for scary aliens in a basement. But. A daughter wanting to unload some of her fears and anxiety on her daddy when it was getting clearer she was moving to the end of her time with the Doctor? PERFECT SENSE. Also, in my head the amazing display of shooting the crap out of the Silents wasn't just to impress the Doctor (or save the day). It was also a little bit of 'Mom, Dad! LOOK WHAT I CAN DO!' The grown up version of macaroni art, only with explosions.
So, yes, that happened and I am pleased. Especially pleased at the Doctor's weirdly giddy reaction to discovering that he's basically dating Amy and Rory's daughter. HE STRAIGHTENED HIS BOW TIE after making kissy faces. <3 <3 <3 forEVER.
Plot. Right. There was a plot, right? And it set up important stuff and things happened, and the Doctor still has his Oncoming Storm issues which we are dealing with, and baby River did explode into goo and is out there somewhere being trained for war against the Doctor and..and...no, these thoughts are not coalescing yet so I'll just sit here and wait impatiently for hiatus to end and for the rest of the season to ride it out.
In conclusion, I still love my show so much.

Until the next big plot twist, the Doctor has a family after a fashion, which is ... odd and novel, for him! I think I like it.
