Hello, internet! I MISS YOU SO FUCKING MUCH. Ahem. Anyway. There is an end in sight to my exile, sadly it is even later than thought. In order to get DSL on the property they have to dig under the main road, and then trench the half mile between the main road and the house. It is going to be done. Just...probably not until after I get back from Vividcon. Nothing to be done about it, so I'm trying to cope.
So, what have I been doing with my time? Remember all those times I threatened to learn how to knit? Yup. And I've only almost injured myself with the knitting needles a few times. Most of those in the first day or so. Though I am mildly annoyed because the nice lady at the yarn store was telling me that it would be so hard to learn to cast on, but I'd be cool from there. The learn to knit book that I bought told me it would be so hard to learn to cast on, but I'd be cool from there. It took me all of ten minutes to get that part. The actual knitting on the other hand? Two days of bursting into tears and throwing the kneedles and swearing not to pick them back up because knitting is stupid before I finally got it. I think it might be because I'm left handed? I don't know. All I know is that VICTORY WAS MINE...eventually. And I now have half a scarf. When it's done I get to learn how to purl too, and from there the wide world of hats and blankets and slippers and maybe even eventually...sweaters will be open to me. Whatever, I don't know why I didn't learn before now. It is an excellent way to keep my hands busy while watching tv.
Speaking of TV, I am watching whatever is on, but I am mostly excited about So You Think You Can Dance at the moment. And that is because of Melanie. Generally the favorite is not my favorite. In this case, OMFG I love her so fucking much. She reminds me why I love to watch dance. I love her, I love her, I love her.
And finally, I am going to leave here to drive to Chicago on the 3d to visit with my Tara pre-VVC. So Chicago peeps, I will be in town from the 4th or 5th (depending on if I drive straight through) on. I EXPECT TO SEE YOU. Catch y'all on the flip side.
