Oh for fucks sake. There I was all gleefully wandering around the internet being all INTERNET and then bam, lightning strikes. No, I mean literally lightning struck. The house. Well, the bit of it where all the feeds and wires are anyway. I dunno, apparently they put some kind of thingie in so when it does that your house doesn't catch fire? Which, yay for not catching fire! Boo for completely blowing out all phone, internet, and television in one fell swoop. I do not even know. Internet and phone are back (dude had to pretty much replace everything including the modem). Television...he gave me a sad look and broke the news that all of our receivers are most likely fried and will have to be replaced entirely by the satellite company like he just did for the modem.

Whatever, I'm so glad it is fixed I am over the fact that the tech guy who was supposed to show up between 10 and 4 didn't mosey by until 6:30. I'M BACK...again.

Sheesh. Bears and lightning. Living in the country is dangerous y'all.

This has happened to my parents' vacation place in the mountains of VA more than once. At least you have most of it back now?

GAH, that's scary shit -- I'm glad everyone's okay! Sorry your electronics were fried, but thank goodness stuff can be replaced.

*hugs*
