Through a great deal of persistence and patience in torrenting I have managed to finish watching season 2 of Haven. I have a habit of getting a wee bit obsessed when marathoning, and nothing will stand in my way. Not even crappy internet.

And I just. You guys. I am in love with this show. Plot wise, I have no intelligent speculation to offer because I suck at that sort of thing. I'm kind of just going along for the ride, clutching the armrests on my chair, and making gasping noises. But know that I really am enjoying not just the characters (WHO I LOVE) but the story itself. A lot. It is delightfully fun and twisty and full of all kinds of narrative kinks of mine.

And the OT3 is just...the OT3ness of it is amazing. Note to people on my f'list who love the OT3 but have not yet checked out Haven. CHECK IT OUT, FOR THE LOVE OF TRIOSHIPPING. You will not be disappointed. At all. All three ships are so satisfying in their own ways, and the trio is even more amazing. I have a particular fondness for Audrey/Nathan because..*points and flails and makes squeaky noises*...but I would not love them nearly as much without Duke because they need him and he needs them.

And I just. Yes. I am interestingly less tense with the conclusion of season 2, which given mumblemumblespoiler is a bit weird, but I think I am more confident now in these characters and who they are and how they are, such that I am deeply curious about how this plays out, and tense on a plot level...but solid in believing it will work out.

*makes clappy hands at show*

Also, randomly because I haven't said so before now, I am utterly charmed by the various references to other Stephen King stories sprinkled throughout. CHARMED. It gives me a little kick my feet in the air glee every time it happens.

Quite possibly my favorite shout out so far was the season 2 opener and the It reference. A most excellent way to completely fuck with my head. I was all tensed up and going nonononoooooo at my screen for all the wrong reasons, and then the right reasons were kinda just as fucked up. HEARTS IN MY EYES.

Did you notice how the PREACHER didn't go to help the kid, but Duke, who not 30 seconds before had been claiming he doesn't care about anyone but himself, immediately goes to make sure he's okay?

Oh, Duke. He tries so very hard not to care, but he CARES SO MUCH. And is also now the winner of Most Impossible Position To Be In on the show. Which, given the respective impossible positions everyone is...is impressive. Duuuuuke. *flail*

Agh. As you know, OT3 is something I recently discovered to be something I love (thank you Once a Thief). But I've caught a few episodes of Haven and it didn't do anything for me. Should I try again?

I would say yes! The story (and the OT3) builds on itself as it goes, and the seasons are short (13 episodes each). I started out thinking it was a pleasant way to waste some time and check out a promised OT3...but by the time I hit the end of season one I was completely invested. And then season 2...gah!

And one of the leads is named Nathan! :D

This Nathan is totally smart and quite awesome and full of FEELINGS for which he makes faces that melt me in a puddle of goo. I lurve him very much.

Is it scary? It sounds cool, but I don't like to be scared. For frame of reference, Buffy and Angel didn't scare me. Well, what they did to Cordy scared me, but for entirely different reasons.
