OMG. After all the high stress runaround and being bounced around various offices to determine where I needed to go and what I needed to apply for, the actual application process for CICP (state medical financial aid) took all of 10 minutes once I was in the right office with the right paperwork.

And finally good news with all this stuff. It doesn't cover the surgeon's individual fees, but for everything else my copay will be a whopping 15 dollars. Considering the whole shebang was going to run 40,000 dollars I am about crying with relief.

Also, it turns out I may actually qualify for Medicaid too, and that application process has begun. I don't have high hopes for that, but I'll find out in a month or so...and, dude, it would be kind of amazing not to constantly be shelling out cash hand over fist for all the various doctor shit.

So, yeah. Good day. Now all I have to do is chill and try not to panic as the 3d gets closer. \o/

That's really good news! Crossing my fingers that you qualify for Medicaid (I can't imagine why you wouldn't, but I believe in earth logic).

Renenet did some more research for me and it seems Colorado is one of a few states that decided to opt in early for Medicaid for adults without dependent children through the Affordable Care Act. Which is awesome but also means there is a limited number of people they can push through until 2014 and I guess it's being done by lottery? So it may or may not happen right now. If the republicans don't get their way about repealing/having the supreme court overturn ACA then for sure by 2014 I will be able to.

Note that if you are on SSDI for two years you should automatically qualify for Medicaid.

My reproductive bits are revolting, so I'm having a laparoscopy/hysteroscopy/D&C to find out what's going on. I suspect endometriosis, myself, but we'll see. I almost hope they find something that can explain the random bouts of horrible pain and uncharacteristically whacky cycles. Ultrasound is clear. *shrug*

In any case, my scar will likely be underwhelming.
