It's that time of year again! Where we vidders gather together in the spirit of giving to bestow (approximately) 1-5 minute little packages of small fandom joy with each other! And festividder, it appears we have matched, how exciting is that? Just that you are here and doing this makes you the bees knees in my eyes, so please, my dearest festividder do what you want with any of these sources. I am not even remotely picky about music, and my greatest joy in vidwatching is when someone vids from the heart, so please do not force yourself to do anything you don't love. If it's to one of these sources, I will love it too. Promise.
I do have one teensy request, which should become obvious if you look at my list of requests this year. You know how
absolutedestiny made a nifty venn diagram in his dear festividder letter? He was kind enough to make one for me too!

Festividder, I am a woman approaching her 40th birthday this year and as I am sure is true of many of my peers two things are true about my ongoing relationship with Drew Barrymore. First, I kind of feel like we grew up together. And second, as an adolescent baby lesbian, she was exhibit A in my "Self, You Are So Very Gay" evidence pile. And so I am going with a Drew theme this year. Now, it would be impossible to make her the focus of a few of these, and you may have ideas that focus strongly on other characters for the others. That's okay! Really! My only request (if you can manage it) is if you could slip her in somewhere, even if it's just in passing.
And now on to the individual requests
Firestarter: Remember that one time when baby Drew could light things on fire WITH HER MIND?!? This has bonus nostalgia of being one of the first Stephen King books I ever read too. There is very little you could do with this movie that would not make me ridiculously happy, festividder. You could be completely tragic and dead serious with it, or just set a lot of shit on fire for fun. Either way, you'll be making me flap my hands with glee.
Poison Ivy: OMG, festividder. Drew Barrymore and Sara Gilbert involved in a twisted obsessive sort of tangled up girlcrush thing with buttloads of subtext and tattoos? Oh my. And okay, there's all that father seduction and murder, and jesus this movie is twisted as hell. But also really, really, really gay. Lets be twisted and gay together, festividder! I'm totally gonna get "Twisted and Gay" on a t-shirt.
Boys on the Side: Speaking of gay, and on a more serious note than the previous two requests...Whoopi Goldberg's character in this movie was the first positive media representation of a lesbian I ever saw. I have no words for what that meant to me. No words. And in a movie all about women being friends and taking care of each other and sisterhood and stuff. Just. This movie, and everyone in it.
Never Been Kissed: Festividder, I have a not so secret love of feel good romantic comedies, I really do. And sure, there are aspects of this movie that could be skeevy if one thought about them too hard. But I don't think about them too hard because I'm too busy going AWWWW all over the place. Second chances! Nostalgia! Getting to make out with the hot English teacher! DREW! Not gonna lie, every single time I watch it and it gets to that part where she's standing on the baseball mound and her face falls because he's not there, but then he really is there and he was just late and then there is kissage? I start making squeaky noises that scare the dogs. Every. Time.
Charlie's Angels: It would not be festivids if one of my requests was not an over the top action movie, and Drew? Loves me enough to provide! Girls kicking ass. Do I really need to say more? I kind of don't. God I love it when shit blows up and when people get punched in the face. I love it a lot dear festividder. You needn't have any shame at all vidding this, in fact, I'd prefer if you didn't. Be shameless! I'm right there with you.
Whip It: I love this movie so much. I kind of want to invent time travel so I can take the DVD back to my teenage self and give it to her too. LOVE. Obviously, Drew is not a focus here, but Ellen Page OMG. And just, roller derby! Girls and women having their own lives and dreams and relationships with each other punctuated by slamming into each other on roller skates. Does it get any better than that? I'm pretty sure it doesn't.
Ever After: Pretty much my favorite retelling of the Cinderella story ever, because not only is she Drew Barrymore, she's also one seriously kick ass fairy tale heroine. And it is so PURTY. <3 <3 <3 <3
