And, yes, Jack might seem like the class clown but you know that's covering up so much pain that he just keeps pushing back down.
So. Much. Pain. Like, I was just thinking about the time loop episode which is one of the most hysterically funny episodes in existence (dear god Jack and Teal'c juggling ALONE sets me off into uncontrollable giggles). And yet..there is that moment during the confrontation with the scientist guy telling Jack he doesn't know how he feels and Jack starts screaming that he lost his son. And it's...so brutally raw that you're suddenly hit in the face that he still lives with that pain. Every day. Always. And yet he gets up every morning, puts one foot in front of the other, and forms these intensely loving bonds with his team and finds joy in fishing and saves the world and he survives. And I just...dear god, I love him so much I can barely stand it.
