Today is for
laura47, all time favorite ships
There are very few ships that I won't end up going 'huh, yeah, I can see that' since I am pretty sure I was born with 'multi-shipper' tattooed on my ass or something. But I do generally have preferred ships in a canon, and they are usually an OT3. I know. This is absolutely shocking. So. Favorite ships of mine in no particular order:
Doctor/Companion(s) (Doctor Who)-- Yes, all of them with all of them. If I were to break it down into the various individual combinations that I love beyond reason we would be here all day. The Doctor/Companion dynamic is one of my favorite things in the world and I will ship it always (well, I guess I don't ship the Doctor with Adric? But I think that's the only exception)
Rory/Amy (Doctor Who) -- I'm breaking this out individually because their relationship makes me stupidly happy on so many levels. I'm listing them as a single pairing but they aren't really since I ship them as a unit with others, heh.
Buffy/Spike/Angel (BtVS) - Baby's first OT3, and dear god I love all three pairings individually and the OT3 so much I can barely stand it. Between them they bring pretty much everything I will ever love from the deeply fucked up to the unbelievably sweet and everything in between with a heaping dose of HAWT on top.
Jack/Sam/Daniel (SG-1)-- I lurve them. On all three arms the friendship/team aspect of it is what gets me the most and why I end up sighing heavily with hearts in my eyes.
John/Rodney (SGA) -- One of my few non OT3s, and that's mostly down to having difficulty getting John Sheppard to emotionally commit to anyone, much less more than one person in my head. And it is actually one of the reasons why I love the ship, because Rodney is one of the only people I can see being stubborn enough to get there. Full of snark and bickering and love. <3
John/Aeryn (Farscape) -- Y'all, this ship is EPIC. Also not an OT3, because holy shit. Insanely hot, complicated, and did I mention EPIC? Possibly the best canon pairing I have ever seen in my life. I will ship it until I die.
Mac/LiAnn/Vic (Once A Thief) -- One of the closest to canon OT3s ever. I sat there with my jaw on the floor through my first watching going 'no, seriously? how. did that happen?!?' It would be on my favorites for that alone, but then it's made up of three characters that make my heart grow three sizes every time I see them alone or together. You've got team, and snarky, and sweet, and I love them SO MUCH.
Nathan/Audrey/Duke (Haven) -- The other pretty much canon OT3. I find it hard to believe the show can end any other way than the three of them together. I mean, I know television won't allow it, but it SHOULD. *points and flails around*
Dean/Cas & Sam (SPN) -- I had trouble figuring out how to list that because I only ship Dean/Cas in a romantic/sexual sense, but it's still kind of an OT3 to me because I literally cannot conceive of a Dean without Sam and Cas and Sam friendship feeds my soul. So, Sam might have to get laid elsewhere, but he better not go anywhere. I have a Dean/Cas post coming up for the meme so I'll leave the details for there. :)
Mulder/Scully (X-Files) -- I'm not particularly happy with the canon version of the 'ship once it went there, but the pairing itself is one of my truly happy places. Buddy cop partners going through hell and back together. This ship is straight up reliable comfort food for me forever. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
I have...a lot more ships than that. A lot. Some of which I've wandered off from but still think of affectionately or love in a more low key way, some are too new to put on the 'favorites' list yet, and some of which had things happen which keep me from going back even though I loved them (for one example, Jack/Ianto, I am looking at you) but in terms of what I am most likely to revisit often and think of when you ask me what my all time favorites are, that list will pretty much always do it for me reliably.

You and me both. The perfection of this ship is constantly inspiring to me. I love them SO MUCH.
Wait, I don't have a John/Aeryn icon? How is that possible?
