Let's talk about Matt Smith's face shall we? HIS GLORIOUS FACE. I need to start this post with a confession...that I was, in fact, dubious of said AMAZING FACE when I'd only seen it in stills. Now that I have seen it in motion I would like to apologize for how very wrong I was. SO WRONG.
What I specifically want to talk about, though, is how THE FACE (yes, it requires capslock, or the lowercase alternate 'faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaace') works to his advantage as the Doctor. Because here's the thing. We know he's young, right. And that could have easily been all wrong with it looking like a kid trying to be a 900 and change time lord. Instead, the MAGNIFICENT FACE is odd enough that it kind of looks instead like 900 plus years of time lordiness got accidentally put together not quite right in this utterly charming way where the youngness is just one more aspect of the alien. It's....perfect.
Is it tomorrow yet?
