Was doing laundry up at the main house yesterday, which is always awesome because I may hate doing laundry but there's actual TV up there so it's good for remembering what random channel surfing is like. And I see Little House on the Prairie so I stay on the channel because I figure since I'm now living in a barn it is a thematically appropriate choice.
And then everything gets more awesome when it turns out to be the episode where Laura turns 16 and becomes a teacher and then Almonzo is all 'This funny feeling in my pants tells me you're barely legal now...wait, barely legal' and Laura is all 'SCORE...wait, but what if he doesn't like me like me' and then Pa is all 'STFU she was wearing pigtails five seconds ago' and Ma is all 'Oh shit, here we go.'
And then Almonzo beats up Laura's student on account of whacky misunderstandings and not quite jailbait Laura being his and Laura is all 'OMFG boys are stupid' and then Almonzo almost commits suicide over a cup of tea until his sister is like 'Dude, you are being way too emo for this show and if you check the credits it says Laura Ingalls Wilder so suck it up.'
And then Pa is all 'Crap, I forgot about the credits, I guess I have to go along with this too' and then Ma is all 'Time to dispense some wisdom to this bunch of morons I got stuck with' and then there's the dance and Almonzo finally mans up and gives Laura a birthday present and kisses her, except when she wears her hair down she looks about 12 and you're torn between going AWWWWWWWWWW and calling the Special Victims Unit.
AKA BEST EPISODE EVAR. Which is a roundabout way of wondering. I can't be the only one who occasionally stumbles on this episode and gets the urge to vid totally schmoopy and slightly skeevy Laura/Almonzo...right? It is possible I have not had enough sleep, and should never be given control of the remote.
