Okay, so I have heard about Game of Thrones for years as something awesome, but never got around to reading it because lots of reasons. pipsqueaky was raving and pimping and flailing about the books. And then when I got home, I have no HBO and limited downloading abilities. So I figured I'd just go ahead and read the books until I could watch the series.
As of last night I finished the first book and HOLY SHIT. A weird spoiler thing follows in that...if you have not read the book and are watching the series as it airs there are BIG HONKING SPOILERS under the cut. No, really. BIG. AND HONKING. Do not read any further if you don't want to be spoiled. However, I have not read beyond the first book yet, so if you have read the series I am begging you to not spoil me for what comes next.
