I'm on a train, motherfucker. The good news, I will be home tomorrow morning ready to start looking for songs to revive the Eleventy project for the recent two parter.

The bad news is that I somehow managed to end up sitting across the aisle from two VERY drunk gentleman who are also going to the Denver station. They are really, really friendly, GOD HELP ME. I've got the headphones on and the netbook out (and while I regularly curse the mifi for the bandwidth limits, the fact that it is portable and allows me to be on the internet while on a train is a very nice selling feature right about now). But please be prepared that there may be periodic horrified updates throughout the night depending on how rowdy they get. Sadly, a full train means getting away from them will be tricky.

ANYWAY. If you are bored and would like to entertain me with stories of your own....unique travel seatmate stories, please do. Or make some up. Or you can tell me what various fannish characters do with unfortunate seatmates.

Oh, honey, I hope your drunks fall asleep or pass out soon!

My only train trip was from the Denver station to the SF station, when I was much, much younger, and I was fortunate enough to have a charming seatmate, a young man who lived above a grocery store? I think? He had a briefcase stuffed with generic products in black&white cardboard, because he'd never seen them before and adored the whole concept! (which gives you some idea of how long ago this was). We played Go Fish for much of the trip, which was much more fun than it sounds. *g* It seems kind of surreal now, like it happened to someone else. Definitely a lifetime ago.
