Vidding is now in full swing for Once a Thief, though I have slowed my actual watching as I get nearer to the end because I DON'T WANT IT TO END. I find myself flaily that I'm coming to the party 13 years late, because OMG. You guys, this is turning out to be a show that I don't just like a lot, it is a show of my heart. I love their faces. I love the way Mac/Li Ann/Vic are together. I love the over the top action sequences that belong in a summer movie with shit blowing up and people getting kicked in the face. I love the ridiculous plot set ups. I love the Director and her ability to get her freak on in any situation. I love how I never finish an episode without grinning ear to ear with pure shaking head to toe glee. I love it, I love it, I LOVE IT.

I want to make more vids after this one. I want to read fic. I want to grab people by the shoulders and shake them and go OMG and have them go OMG back at me. Is there even the remote possibility an active OaT comm exists? If there isn't and I started one for a (re)watch discussion and place to post fanworks, would people come? We could have a no spoiler policy for episode discussion for newbies? COME WITH ME, VIC WILL COOK FOR YOU.

I would try to do a rewatch and comment? I actually had already pulled out my DVDs, which I wasn't entirely sure I'd really bought, hee. But I can't make promises, sadly. That way lies MADNESS.

There's no DW comm as far as I know; I didn't create one since there didn't really seem to be enough interest to justify it, and also by the time DW started to exist I'd already started giving up fandom to deal with things like having a baby.

The heyday of OaT fandom happened before LJ, even; there was a Yahoo mailing list. The group still exists, technically, though the last real on-list discussion happened in, like, July of 2003. It's all still there in the archives, though, if you're into that kind of thing!

The existence of DVDs (and relatedly, the ability to d/l) might mean an influx of new fans (I can dream!) ... feel free to pimp the existing LJ comm, or start a DW one (please let me know!).

Oooooooooh. Joined! And will definitely pimp...question, how do you feel about attempting to get this going by doing an official community rewatch? Like, an episode a week or something with spoiler free discussion for the newbies we shall entice?

It sounds like your time is pretty limited (congratulations on baby!), but I'm totes willing to make the posts. I can also provide a locked post link where anyone can, *ahem*, acquire copies if they don't have them (not as shiny as the DVDs, but I reckon anyone who gets a chance to see them in the first place will of course buy the DVDs once they know because THIS SHOW OMG)

I think an official community rewatch sounds like awesome fun! Except for the part where I might not be able to keep up (currently, my fannish time is usually limited to 2 hours Wednesday nights; I'm making a special Friday exception just to write back to you!). If you were willing to get it going and make the posts, though, I would definitely cheer you on and help/participate as much as I could.
