This is a wonderful vid. It makes me remember why I watched this movie so many times and now I am inching for a blu ray copy. Great work.

I liked this so much! I went and read your musings and young Eunice was very much like young Moi, though I never saw this on the big screen (which I imagine was also quite formative). I have this vague idea of how I remember Witness and after watching your vid, I want to go watch the whole thing, and squeee, and wallow in all of that delicious sexual tension and the build-up! URF. And kind of compare/ruminate on the then and now. You've reminded me how much I love this movie. I loved how John and Rachel had conversations with their eyes only, and I thought the music was a perfect blend of haunting and comforting.

I also particularly liked the opening bit with the horse hooves clopping, the line you made a slow disaster out of me, HF in a field of clover, annnd (re)discovering just now that Viggo Mortenson's in the cast! Well, neat. :)

The notes on this vid made me watch it. I'm a sucker for love stories that end with goodbyes, and wow, this really stabs you with heartache. I love how you balance the love story and the life he builds temporarily with the mother and child.

I love how the song, lyrics and mood, worked with the story of these characters.

Haunting and gorgeous, as all Peter Weir moves are - distilled to its essence here. Well done.
