It has been awhile since I have posted because reasons, but what the hey. I shall do a meme.

Anyone who feels like it should post their ten most CRUCIAL CRUCIAL CRUCIAL-ASS movies, like the movies that explain everything about yourselves in your current incarnations (not necessarily your ten favorite movies but the ten movies that you, as a person existing currently, feel would help people get to know you) (they can change later on obviously).

The direction I went with in picking the list was essentially movies that were deeply formative for whatever reason in my youth/young adulthood, because they are the roots of the tree that is me, or whatever silly metaphor you prefer. Unsurprisingly I have actually ended up vidding several of the movies list, heh. It was still tough narrowing, though. I...actually have no idea what this list says about me overall as a person.

Valley Girl, yeah. I remember it as a great movie for its music. Also reminds me of Birdy, another Nick Cage film. I wonder if Birdy would hold up to a viewing now? I saw it a million years ago, and I was a baby.

Valley Girl does...not hold up I suspect unless you were enamoured of it as a pre-teen/teen. Hee. But for me it has the a sort of perfect storm of life influences. First it was filmed in locations that were significant to my life (at the time it came out the Sherman Oaks Galleria, and a few years later West Hollywood). Which relatedly also means the music/fashion/culture are deeply recognizable as A Part of My Life.

And then also, it was released when I was a newly flooded with hormones, puberty stricken youngster who imprinted heavily on what I now cringingly call the 'Stalker Romance' genre, which remains to this day as one of my guilty pleasure 'holy crap that is so unhealthy and creepy in real life but I shall EAT IT UP WITH A SPOON' buttons in fictional romances. :D

Oh, I love Thelma and Louise (and that awesome vid you made for me)! And Terminator 2, Empire strikes back, Witness and Nightmare on Elm Street.

And I watched While you were sleeping so many times. I know it has a christmas theme, but for some reason it was always on tv here around easter and so I always have to think of it while eating a certain easter candy :)

:D. While You Were Sleeping is like, the ultimate comfort movie. There is pretty much nothing about it I don't love.
