And another thought on Let's Kill Hitler and spoiler, spoiler, spoiler
I kind of love how, in retrospect, baby Mel's questioning of Amy about the Doctor is actually more of an interrogation. And that her answers in class were not full of awe and wonder about the Doctor but were actually rather accusatory "Yeah, that bad shit happened because the Doctor didn't help"
And then again her whole 'I was going to grow up and marry you'...except Mel knew she could regenerate and therefore wouldn't be dying and was immediately like 'SUCKER' about it once she did.
Basically Moffat flipped the script on the story of the child who grows up in awe and wonder of the Doctor, and you've instead got one plotting to kill him and who thinks he's hot, yeah, but isn't exactly swanning around in awe of him. Shoot, what really convinces her about who she could be is her motivation to save her mom and dad and the TARDIS teaching her to fly, really. Note that she actually doesn't do the thing with the kissy regeneration transfer until she asks Amy and Rory, 'Is he worth it?'
There's all that sexual tension and flirting with guns and bananas and whatnot, and definitely FEELINGS but it's way more mixed up and bigger than 'oh, the Doctor is wonderful and of course I love him forever and ever because he's the Doctor'
Anyway, yes. I kind of ship it hard.

... I love that this is now a superhero / supervillain romance. With lots of internal canon debate over who is which! Aw I ship it so much.

I ship them like burning, and I now have lots of new footage and new ideas to work into my River-Doctor vid. :D
